“Don’t Get Around Much Anymore ” is a jazz standard with penalization by Duke jazzman and lyrics by Bob Russell. The set was originally titled  “Never No Lament ” and was prototypal recorded by jazzman in 1940 as a big adornment instrumental. Russell’s lyrics and the newborn title were added in 1942. Two assorted recordings of  “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore “, one by The Ink Spots and the other by Ellington’s possess band, reached  on the R&B charts in 1943.
