Music Box Dancer

Music Box Dancer  is a Canadian instrumental musician Frank Mills, who was an international hit in 1970. It has a piano theme which is accompanied by other instruments designed to look like a music box.  Music Box Dancer  was written and recorded by Frank Mills in 1974, but it was to become one until 1978. At Christmas that year was in the top ten of thousands of music charts across Europe and Asia. Released as a single in the U.S. in late 1978, reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1979 and reached number 3 in the contemporary Canadian adults and the number 47 charts in Canada. In 1979, for the 1980  Music Box Dancer  was the theme of the documentary half-hour CBS  2 in the city. Music Box Dancer was recorded by the pianists known as Floyd Cramer, Roger Williams.

Frank Mills

Frank Mills (born June 27, 1942) is a Canadian singer and pianist, known for his solo instrumental hit "Music Box Dancer." Born in Quebec, Mills began his career as a member of the Bells, the group to which he belonged from 1970 to 1972. He has played piano for the band, whose best known hit was "Stay Awhile" (1971). After leaving the Bells in 1972, Mills began a solo career. His efforts first one just made a dent in the standings, although his 1972 single "Love Me, Love Me, Love" reached as high as # 46 on Billboard Hot 100 and # 8 on Billboard's Easy Listening, and cover Ricky Nelson "Poor Little Fool" has happened in Canada (both songs featured Mills singing and playing the piano). Frank released an album in 1974 which featured "Music Box Dancer," but it was not a success to begin with. When Frank re-signed to Polydor Records in Canada in 1978, the company has released a new song single, with "Music Box Dancer" is a B-side.The single was sent to easy listening stations in Canada, but a copy was sent in error to CFRA-AM, a pop station in Ottawa. The program director played the A-side and couldn’t.
